A 16" x 20" lithograph depicting B-1B combat operations during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF).
The primary purpose of this original image was to capture the essence of the B-1B's capability as a close air support (CAS) platform and its success providing overwatch security to U.S. forces in combat/contact with hostile forces. When an enemy is in close proximity to U.S. (and allied forces) a "Danger Close" situation would be called out and any available asset in the area was scrambled to their rescue. In this image U.S. ground forces, including a Joint Terminal Air Controller (JTAC) team has called in a "Danger Close" 9-line and an Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota (28th Bomb Wing), B-1B is responding by dropping a GBU-31 V(1) on the enemy target(s) from a high speed, low "show of force" altitude. The item comes framed with a gray double matte and autographed by the artist. It is also available in a tan matte - request option when ordered.
